Roommate moving. need a new roommate to take over lease w/me?

Alright my roomy is moving out of state we have 3 months left on our lease. Do you think i can find a new roommate who will resign the lease with me for the rest of our lease? Is this a good idea, i cant afford rent in my own and my roommate warned me this day was coming since before we moved in together.
