How long do stretch marks last?

I'm a 17 yr old guy and I suddenly got these stretch marks. Ok well I know that they don't disappear COMPLETELY. But I was wondering how long will it take before it's just less visible? Btw would creams make it less visible then if I don't do anything or will it just hasten the process of making it less visible?
